A natal chart looks complex, but it’s built from a few core layers:
1. The Planets (your “actors”)
Each planet represents a part of you:
Sun → core identity, ego, life purpose
Moon → emotions, inner world
Mercury → communication, thinking
Venus → love, beauty, relationships
Mars → drive, action, desire
Outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, etc.) → growth, lessons, generational influence
2. The Zodiac Signs (the “style”)
Each planet sits in a sign, which changes how it expresses:
Example:
Mars in Aries → bold, direct
Mars in Pisces → intuitive, indirect
3. The Houses (the “life areas”)
The chart is divided into 12 sections (houses), each representing a part of life:
1st → identity, appearance
4th → home, roots
7th → relationships
10th → career, public image
4. The Aspects (the “conversations”)
Those lines inside the chart connect planets:
Trine (flow) → natural ease
Square (tension) → growth through challenge
Opposition → balance needed
What a natal chart actually tells you
A well-read chart can reveal:
your emotional patterns (Moon + aspects)
relationship style (Venus + 7th house)
life direction (Sun + Midheaven)
wounds & growth (Saturn, Pluto, Chiron)
natural gifts and blind spots
It’s less about “prediction” and more about self-awareness and pattern recognition.
